Restricted Key Systems

Northside Locksmiths has over 30-years experience designing and installing restricted key systems for businesses big and small. Whether you have 5 doors or 5000, we can tailor a system to meet your needs.

What is a Restricted Key System?

Restricted key systems involve a combination of custom, patented key blanks and lock cores, used to secure a building from unauthorised access.

Restricted key systems are designed and installed by an authorised and accredited supplier of the patented system, such as Northside Locksmiths, to ensure the integrity and security of the system.Once the system has been installed, any new restricted security keys will require authorisation by you and/or an elected person, so that even if a person has a restricted key, they will not be able to get it duplicated, without authorisation.

Northside Locksmiths will keep a documented record of all keys and locks ordered for your new restricted system, so that you will always know who has a copy of your keys.

Why Get a Restricted Key System?

Restricted security key systems can provide increased security against illegal attacks, lock picking, lock bumping and illegal key duplication.

Restricted security key systems are available in various levels of security from standard security to medium and high security. We will taylor a restricted security key system to suit your specific security requirements.

Where are Restricted Key Systems Used?

Restricted key systems provide key control and access control and are suitable for applications including:

  • Homes
  • Commercial and Industrial Buildings
  • Apartment Complexes
  • Hotels and Resorts
  • Schools
  • Councils
  • Mining
  • Government Facilities
  • Hospitals and Health Care Facilities

What is a Restricted Key Profile?

A 'profile' in terms of restricted or master key systems refers to the patented key and lock core designs. Profiles are designed and registered by a number of lock hardware manufacturers, including Lockwood, Abloy and BiLock. Each profile is unique and is protected by law so that it is illegal for the design to be copied by any other manufacturer, ensuring that 'knock-offs' and fakes can not be made.

Some common Restricted Key Profiles that we provide are listed below.

  • Lockwood Twin

  • OZ 1

  • OZ 33

  • Abloy

  • Kaba

  • BBG
